Meet Mattie Stanford

If you have ever been to Drake Cooper’s Boise office, you have probably noticed Mattie. She usually can be seen smiling, unless absorbed by a complex email. Mattie is the glue that keeps her team together. She is a relentless worker who will only stop at perfection. She is also probably one of the kindest people around.

What made you want to work at Drake Cooper?

Mattie
I heard that advertising agencies were fast paced, and high energy which sounded interesting and stimulating. So I met with Jamie Cooper and talked to him about what Drake Cooper was all about. I fell in love with the idea that it was more than a job, it was a place that I could feel super comfortable and challenge the way I went about working.

DC
If you were stuck on a deserted island what would you bring?

Mattie
Can it be a dessert island? I would want everything chocolate. Oh and I love Reese’s so any peanut butter-chocolate combo.

DC
What’s your spirit animal?

Mattie
This is a stupid question… next. Jaimie told me that I was a naked mole rat.

DC
One lesson you have learned from working at Drake Cooper?

Mattie
The power and importance of questions and knowing that you have a team to back you up.

DC

If you could witness any event of the past, present or future, what would it be?

Mattie
The first flight to the moon. There is no real reason, personally. I just would really like to see it.

DC
What is your stance on Tony the Tiger?

Mattie
They’re GRRRRRREAT!!! I used to love Frosted Flakes. At the cafeteria at Boise State, I used to eat bowls of them. So I would say that Tony The Tiger and I are homies.

DC
Advice that you live by?

Mattie
Always wear a smile.

DC

You lived in Denmark. What are the three things that you have to see in Denmark.

Mattie

Nyhavn, the colored buildings with the canal and where the boats come in, they’re cute little shops and people just hang out. The northernmost point of Denmark, two different seas come together and collide. Oh, and Christmas markets are awesome – during Christmas time they make homemade gifts.

DC

You are not a native Idahoan, and you had a chance to travel around the whole state. What is something weird that we Idahoans do?

Mattie

The fact that everybody drives a truck, and mudding and bonfires are a common occurrence.

DC
You’ve survived Drake Cooper for a year now, what is some advice you would give to a newbie on their first year?

Mattie

Every day is a new day. The mistakes you made yesterday can be changed for the better. Don’t get hung up on the small things.
